Pete Monaghan is a painter specialising in vernacular architecture of Wales and the Celtic fringes. He fuses techniques gleaned from a background in (technical) illustration with mixed-media and graffiti influences resulting in work that celebrates the beauty and dignity of humble buildings. The art critic Peter Wakelin refers to his work as being “all crinkly tin and telegraph poles”.

He works from a studio near Aberystwyth.
