‘Rockpool’ is one of a series of experimental abstract pieces. I am endeavouring to push my work to become more abstract and instinctive through sketchbook work, photography and play.

Rockpools are microcosms – little worlds of diverse and complex lifeforms thrown together with stones, rocks and shells plus various other materials such as grass, plastic, wooden or metal objects.

Existence is precarious and the organisms are tough but fragile. The shapes, colours and forms are magical, and I am fascinated and inspired by how they thrive in these ever changing conditions in the backwards and forwards of life and tides.
