I created my piece of art ‘Pomegranates’ as I had been inspired by the intricacy and detail found in natural forms – specifically fruits. By producing this piece, I hope that viewers can appreciate the beauty and its complexity, something that is often overlooked.

Instead of simply sketching my piece of art, I decided to use a combination of subtractive and additive to add depth and to help convey the message behind my piece – the intricacy of nature which may often appear simple.

I decided to enter my artwork into the Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize as a lot of inspiration for my art and creativity originated from experiencing the wonderful nature of Wales: its natural beauty and spirit.
