Drawing inspiration from the turbulent weather and landscape of my native Ynys Môn, my work has a solid grounding in traditional drawing techniques and media. In 2018 I began experimenting with innovative ways of applying and moving fluid oil paint in a controlled yet somewhat spontaneous manner. Over the years my process evolved, creating undisclosed handcrafted drawing tools and implements that challenge my control and movement of paint. By building up and removing layers of paint I have developed an idiosyncratic method of drawing that results in the images appearing to have been organically formed and almost photographic in aesthetic.
