I have a multidisciplinary practice and continually explore new materials. Developments in biotechnology and mythological creatures are themes in much of my work. Self Portrait is a detailed colour pencil drawing of my right eye. This represents something quite noticeable about my appearance and unique to me as it is the eye affected by my facial palsy. Our eyes give us our view out into the world as well as being the “windows to the soul”. They can reveal a lot about someone’s feelings. I often wonder if people can read my emotions correctly, with the asymmetry of my face.
