Drawing is the foundation of my art practice. I make rapid thumbnail sketches of simple shapes and forms, light and shadow, symmetry and asymmetry, hoping to tap into the flow, the conduit to the subconscious pool of experience and intuition.

I choose those thumbnails and develop them further by making a series of 5x5cm drawings, refining shapes and compositions, and introducing colour. These drawings become contact sheets, the basis for final works.

My artwork is a reaction to the chaos of the world, It’s a search for stillness, quiet, calm, order, and the mysterious beauty that resides beyond that chaos.
