As a geologist, I have always had an interest in landscape and the natural world. Now retired and living in the splendor of North Wales,

I have the opportunity to paint its mountains, woodlands, and coastline. I challenge myself to try and capture its beauty, light and atmosphere.

Watercolour is my favourite medium. I love its free flowing quality and transparency. Maintaining control of a wash on damp paper knowing that I tread a fine line between triumph and disaster is exhilarating. More recently, I have been painting with acrylics and oils enjoying the challenge of different mediums.

This is my first exhibition at Oriel Yns Mon but I also show my work at the Bay Tree Gallery at Valley, Llangollen Tourist Information Centre, The Royal Cambrian Academy Open and various art group Spring and Summer Exhibitions.
