Every year in Trearddur Bay, there is a sandcastle ball run competition in August. I have wanted to watch and draw it for years and 2023 was my first chance. Concerned about privacy laws, the organiser banned photography at the event, so I drew from “life”. 

I started drawing with a light grey pen and thin washes of colour, keeping to the same time limit as the sandcastle builders. Later I added darker overlapping lines. I think the two lines add something of the movement and excitement of the event.
